Scott McGovern

Founder of Growth Nuts. He built Green Rush Daily from nothing to a $7 million acquisition by High Times in nineteen months, almost entirely through organic search — then spent 2019 writing in Entrepreneur about exactly how it was done. Everything on this page links to a source you can check.

What actually happened

2016–2018

Founded Green Rush Daily

A cannabis media platform built on organic search. It reached 6.5 million monthly visitors without a paid acquisition budget.

April 2018

Acquired by High Times for $7 million

Nasdaq covered the deal at the time. Benzinga later reported the full timeline: nineteen months from launch to exit. Scott stayed on with High Times after the acquisition.

2018–2019

Contributor at Entrepreneur

Nine bylined columns on search, growth and cryptocurrency — including voice search, black hat detection, and how to choose an SEO firm without getting taken.

Today
